Sr. Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Design

 

Location: Denver, CO (Potential for hybrid flexibility)

Salary: $130-160k (Potential for a higher base salary depending on background and years of experience) 



Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC design to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical building systems, sustainable design practices, and project management, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality HVAC solutions that meet client expectations and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of HVAC systems for various building types, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
  • Conduct energy modeling and system assessments to optimize HVAC performance and sustainability.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
  • Oversee the preparation of design documents including specifications, drawings, and estimates for HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Conduct quality reviews of design submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating project concepts and designs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in HVAC design and mechanical building systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Trace, HAP, and other relevant design software.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable design principles and energy-efficient systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and leading design teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
