Position Overview:

A Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction and tenant improvements, as well as experience with submittals, RFI's, change orders, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of project plans, including budget, timeline, and scope of work.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Review and approve submittals and RFI's to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Manage change orders and communicate any changes to project stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, including identifying critical path activities and potential delays.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address any construction issues that arise.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to project managers and clients.
  • Ensure all construction activities adhere to safety regulations and building codes.
  • Provide support for the closeout process, including final inspections and obtaining necessary approvals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering or construction management.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and techniques.
  • Experience with submittals, RFI's, change orders, and project scheduling software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
