Position Overview
We are looking for a General Superintendent to lead and manage complex construction projects from initial planning through to completion. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate and supervise all construction personnel and activities across our Canton, MA office and various job sites in MA and CT. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in multi-family housing construction, particularly in ground-up development, occupied renovations, and/or reuse and preservation projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management Oversight:

  • Supervise project progress in relation to schedules and budgets for all ongoing construction sites.
  • Identify potential challenges and proactively address them to prevent delays and cost overruns.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure effective execution of project plans.

Field Team Leadership:

  • Lead and oversee a team of field superintendents, foremen, and other construction professionals.
  • Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and provide necessary training to ensure field staff are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance-related issues.

Safety Compliance:

  • Implement and uphold rigorous safety protocols across all construction sites.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and address any safety hazards without delay.
  • Encourage a culture of safety awareness among all field personnel.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and maintain high-quality standards throughout the construction process.
  • Conduct quality checks and address any quality issues promptly and effectively.

Resource Management:

  • Coordinate the effective allocation of equipment, materials, and labor to enhance project efficiency.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships to ensure timely and quality delivery of work packages.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Foster open lines of communication with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Hold regular job site meetings to discuss project status and address any concerns.

Operational Improvement:

  • Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement in field operations.
  • Implement new processes and procedures to boost productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction field operations, preferably managing large-scale projects.
  • Experience with multi-family ground-up construction, occupied renovations, and/or reuse and preservation initiatives.
  • Proficiency in construction project management software and tools.
