Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Position Overview
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and analyses to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and adhering to regulatory compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform complex laboratory tests and analyses on patient samples
Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
Conduct quality control procedures to validate test results
Analyze samples using various techniques including microscopy and biochemical assays
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss test results and patient care
Document and report laboratory findings in compliance with regulatory standards
Participate in laboratory safety and quality assurance programs
Keep abreast of advancements in laboratory technology and practices

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field.
Hold an active (CLS) Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification and license with the state of California.
ASCP or HEW certification.
3+ years of experience in a laboratory environment with similar functions.
Experience with state and federal regulations.
Physical requirements: prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Knowledge of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
